| The
Vintage Mustang Club of Kansas City hosted “Comin
Alive in 2005” an MCA National show held on
June
24-26, 2005
,
in
Overland
Park
,
Kansas
. Three
groups from the Platte Valley Mustangs attended the
show that weekend along with about 7 cars from the
Capital City Ford Club out of
Lincoln
. Going
down from our club were Ron & Mary Hostetter
with their new 2005 Mustang GT, Dennis Brandenburg
in his 2002 Mustang GT and Rex, Brock and Bob Minert
with an 84 GT Convertible.
Show
headquarters was the Doubletree Hotel with the show
site at nearby
Corporate
Woods
Office
Park
. Registration
began on Friday at the Doubletree where the Vintage
Mustang Club hosted a barbeque. Saturday
morning, the show was in full bloom with judging
taking place during that afternoon. The weather
was very warm, no make that very hot! On
Saturday night, a beach party was held back at the
Doubletree.
Sunday
brought more hot weather, but somehow having well
over 200 great looking Mustangs around to look at,
made everything bearable. Awards were presented on
Sunday afternoon. The Columbus and Lincoln
group did extremely well at award time. Denny
Brandenburg received a First place award in the 1994
– 2003 Closed Occasional Driven Class and the
Minert’s received a Gold in the 1974 – 1993
Unrestored Class. Hostetters didn’t enter
their car into competition since they were also
spending time with family in the K.C. area that
weekend. All of the Lincoln Club members
received awards for their cars with most getting a
first or gold award in their respective classes.
This
was a great show to attend and we all had a great
time in
Kansas
City
. If
you ever get a chance to attend a National MCA show
I would highly recommend it, the quality of cars at
these kind of shows are unbelievable. |
