Club Dues- May 30th, 2006


The May meeting of the PVMC was held Tuesday evening, May 9, 2006 at Maximus. The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM by President, Todd Perry. Members present were: Todd & Vicki Perry, Alice Nagorski, Rhonda Wetgen, Rex Minert, Tom Maul, Ron Hostetter, Donn Swedenburg, Cory Bruce, Jeff Keating, DJ Brandenburg & Becky, Kevin Veik, Bill Kohler, Terry & Jennifer Bloom. Four visitors were present - Diane Gehring, John E. Bill Will and Ron Hopwood from the Midwest Street Rod Association. 

PVMC report:
Rex Minert and Tom Maul are working with the businesses downtown to closed off 13 & 14th Street and 27th Avenue and part of 26th? (Frankfort Square) for our annual show this August 13th. 

Old Business: 

  • The Show & Shine was a big success we had about 50 cars and the weather was perfect. The club gave Mitch (manager of Hy-Vee) a 8 x 10 photo of our cars and signatures for a BIG THANK YOU!!!
  • About a dozen of the members met up @ Columbus Custom Embroidery to tour and check out apparel with our logo.
  • 20 members went to Comedy night @ Signatures. Had a great time.
  • Trash pickup was held on May 6th, 2006. About 16 members showed up and picked up 18 bags of trash from our highway. 
  • Mike's Classic Cars was held on May 7th, 2006 check out the photo's Rex Minert took on our events page.
  • Wishing a speedy recovery for Donn Swedenburg wife and Fred Liss wife Shari on knee surgery.

New Business: 

  • We had two visitors Bill Will & Rod Hopwood from the Midwest Street Rod Association to ask for our help for Tour Nebraska on June 2 - 4, 2006. For information go to our events page.
  • Poker Run will be May 20th, 2006 meeting place will be @ 1:00 PM Ace Hardware. Everyone is welcome to join the fun, you don't have to be a member. Bring a friend.
  • We need some different cars for the parade on July 2nd, 2006. (old members still can bring their vehicles). J Please contact Vicki Perry if you like your vehicle in the Columbus Parade. 
  • We have a younger member graduating from high school this year her name is Kayla Gronenthal. Everyone is welcome to her party.
  • Raffle tickets are available for our PVMC show, contact Alice Nagorski @ LACoupe@megavision.com or call.

MCA and All-Ford Show:
Rex Minert informed the members of plans to form an organization named the MIDWEST FORD CLUBS, INC, which would be made up of four area car clubs - Platte Valley, Omaha Mustang Club, Model T Club and CCFMC. The purpose of this organization would be to insure continuation of the annual MCA & all MCA & All-Ford Show. This club would be governed by four directors - one appointed from each of the four clubs - who would be the officers of this organization. By-laws have been written and this organization has been incorporated by an attorney affiliated with the Platte Valley Club - Tom Maul.
