St. Patrick’s Day Parade – FINAL INFO

Date:
Saturday, March 11, 2006

Meet at Famous Dave’s at
50 Arena Way , Council Bluffs, 51501 no later than 10:00 am . (It’s by the Mid America Center. There is a new Bass Pro right there, too. It’s just a block west of Bluffs Run Casino/Track.) It’ll take us roughly 30 minutes to get to the staging area. In case the parade is running faster than anticipated, we have to be ready to receive a call from the director saying, “Arrive NOW!”, thus the early time.

At
10:50, we’ll caravan out and go to the parade staging area located at 16th and Jones in downtown. We have to be there ready to roll at 11:30 .

When we arrive, we’ll line up in pairs. Stay even with your partner, and one car’s length from the car in front of you. If possible, we’ll line up oldest to newest – Foxes in front, Retros in back. Then we await instruction from the parade director.

During the parade, turn on your hazards, wave at the people, smile, rev your engines, blast your stereo. Make a lot of racket. They love that. If you can make children cry from the noise, you get a point. Don’t throw things.

Afterward, we’ll head back to Famous Dave’s for lunch and visiting. I’ll call ahead some reservations for our group.

Extra info:

Bring a clean car, please. This is a show off situation, so we need to be able to strut our stuff.

Suggestion: Wear green shirts if you have them, or go out and buy one of those silly green party hats, or a green baseball cap. I might bring green ribbon to tie to the tops of antennae.

As an incentive I will bring big, fat, yummy doughnuts for your pre-parade enjoyment.
